Brandon “BeDavid” McKenzie
Brandon “BeDavid” McKenzie came into this world with a passion for music that needed to be released. He began singing and playing the piano and drums without professional training at an early age and heavily influenced by traditional and contemporary Gospel and R&B/Soul music.
BeDavid’s passion for music continued to grow and he realized music’s spiritual influence in people’s lives. He learned to sight read for piano at Columbia College. At that moment, he was introduced to so many different styles of music that were formally outside of his comprehension. BeDavid went on to study classical voice at the University of IL Chicago, which has helped him understand his vocal instrument. His gifts and training have allowed him to network and gain respect from other musicians and vocalists in and around Chicago.
BeDavid became uneasy with the direction that music of the world was moving in. He felt that music was losing its art form. He also noticed that music and art were no longer important in elementary and high school systems. He then figured that the same discipline applied to learning music could be applied in life training. Therefore, Applied Gifts Music was born.
While planning and building on AGM, BeDavid teaches private voice, piano, and drum lessons and is currently a full time musician serving on the Ministry of Music staff at Bethlehem Temple MB Church. He is also performing and recording with AGSouL and various other performance groups.
